>>>A little background: I originally had the 1200! It didn't play certain movies (this was back in July)! So CC traded it in for me and gave me a 1400! I didn't understand at the time that the 1400 didn't have the HQV chip of the 1200 but made arrangements to trade the 1400 in if (and when) the 5000 ever came out!
CC has hooked up all my equiment because I don't have a clue! LOL!
I've had some "issues" with the 1400, but since it is new technology, I'm fairly patient! (Although at my age, perhaps I shouldn't be! LOL!)
I managed to somehow figure out how to do the 1.2 firmware update when my Die Hard 4 wouldn't play!
Boy, was I proud of myself!
Tonight, I was watching POTC3! No problems!
At one point I had to pause it for just a few seconds! (Don't dare pause it for very long, or it'll stop, and I'll have to start all over! *Sigh*!)
Went back to watching the movie!
Noticed that instead of giving me the time elapsed in the display portion of the play, it said CD-UP!
Didn't have a CLUE what that meant!
Couldn't access any of the menus!
Couldn't PAUSE it! Couldn't even STOP it!
Tried from both the remote and going up to the player to do it by hand!
Nope! The movie just kept playing and playing withe CD-UP in the display!
It would NOT turn off even - no matter what I did!!!!
Finally (scared though I was to do this! ), I pulled the plug!
Thank goodness it stopped then! LOL!
It was literally like the player had completely jammed, but not really because the movie was still playing along beautifully!
It loaded back up, and the time was displayed properly again!
Remote and all functions work again!
What was THAT all about???
Anyone have this problem before?
Anyone know what CD-UP meant in the display?
Another new "adventure" in 1400-land! LOL!
