Just got off the phone with the store in Costa Mesa and was told end of Oct to early Nov. Could not get out of them if that was because of pre-orders or just the shipment.

user manual is not available for ldp-95fd, but ldp-lx70a (asian version of ldp-95fd) user manual can already be downloaded via the following link (european web site). Some might find it useful, enjoy.

Is the Sony S500 a clone of the upcoming Pio 95?

I miss the rosewood sides on the old Pioneer Elite equipment!

Blu-ray - 576

HD DVD - 81

No since the 500 will not do MA if you look at the specs and this one will. That is bitstream only.

where did you get info the S500 will not be able to do DTS MA over bitstream?

Just enjoy HD in whatever form you can (Sat, Cable, D-VHS, OTA, HD DVD, or BD).

I looked at the user manual, page 42, and it looks like the 95 will not bitstream DTS-MA as such. DTS-HR clearly says DTS-HR output through HDMI but DTS-MA is output as DTS, not DTS-MA, and not 7.1

It does appear to read that way. But from the product brochure it says that it will do MA. And if you look at pg40 it says diffrent also.

Quote:

Outputs a bitstream of Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, DTS-HD High
Resolution Audio or DTS. However, if the player is connected to an HDMI device that is
incompatible with the output of Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus or DTS-HD High Resolution
Audio, it outputs the Dolby Digital or DTS bitstream. Depending on the HDMI device
connected and the content being played, Linear PCM audio may be output. See About the
audio output settings on page 42 for details.

Looks as clear as mud to me.

Good I figured it was a case of poor writing on the manuals part. Or just trying to conserve space and not making it clear.

i have seen the similar mistake in Marantz SR8002 product sheets (it says hdmi1.2 is supported, but in fact this av receiver could support hdmi1.3a) due to cut-and-paste from the previous generation one.

When the big truck rolls up with it on it.
Since I have to go by a MHT store tomorrow on my way out of town I might just stop and check if they have any info in the comp for it yet.

And I am with you I want a new player my 1200 is really starting to piss me off not being able to play the 2 new movies I bought on Tues. Not to mention I want to see some of the other lights on my 94 receiver light up.

Hey Joerod,

The first truckload of BDP-95FDs left the warehouse today.. My guess is that Jeff will receive them next week... He already has one on display..... I dropped it off myself...

Also, the BDP-95FD absolutely outputs DTS-HD MA bit stream as well as all other Advanced Audio Formats.....

How will this unit be any different than the Samsung 1400. Do you think the picture will be better than the 1400? The tray noise on the 1400 is kinda loud but the picture seems top notch. Jerod...I think you have the 1400, correct? Can't wait for the comparison.
