I apologize if this has been mentioned before (I did search this thread and didn't find any references to this particular deal) but I just got the Panny BD30 for $99 WHEN I purchased a 700U Panasonic plasma from Crutchfield. Initially I was only planning to buy the plasma tv and was planning to pick up a PS3 for BDs; until I saw the offer ($400 off for the BD30 with qualifying TV) and ordered them both in a heartbeat....

So, if you were also in the market for a TV...

It was on the back of the sports page of the Sacramento Bee. Try the sports page of your local newspaper.

Yeah... I thought it might just be my browser (Safari).

Anyway, in the Tribune this a.m., the Sony BD player Fry's advertised was a less scintillating $499.

Oh well, here we always have Abt, although you usually have to go to the store to get their best prices, as they don't advertise them.

The last link I can locate brings up the Texas ad. Same price as here on the BD player, though.

Just a note, I stopped in one of the Costcos near me on the way home. They are sold out of the Sony 301. They checked and the other nearby store (Haggerty Road in metro Detroit) is also sold out. They hope to get more in before the price drop expires next week.

FREE PS3 (from any retailer by redemption 28 days) + TV CABINET(if tv is purchased from sonystyle)

when you buy any 1080P tv here in Australia for the next month.

I guess sony doesn't like being in last place here.

I just picked up a Sony 301 at the Sam's Club in Laurel, MD, however the price tag on the shelf states $377. I took one of them over to the customer service desk to explain to the clerk that the price seemed to be in error, as it was listed as $277 online. She scanned it and it came up as $277. There are two left at this location as of tonight.

Is the sonystyle credit card the only deal you can get on the PS3? I'm going to buy one after christmas, and I haven't been finding any deals. The sonystyle card is an awesome deal but they said it will take 8-12 weeks to get the credit back on the card...no thanks.

I also missed out on the kmart 20% deal. Would any discounts like that come up in the next week, or should I just shell out the $400 for one at best buy?

Keep in mind that the Sony card also has 12 months, no interest along with the $100 off. Knowing this, what's the negative on waiting 8-12 weeks for the $100 credit? IMO, the 8-12 week wait is a non-issue.

Ditto! I'll send them like $50 a month and by time credit hits I'll be almost paying it off! It is a great deal. I got the S300 BD essentially for $199!! I'll wait the 2 months for the credit, then heck I'll pay off the balance and close the account.

well i stopped by my local sams and they had an open box 301 marked down to $194.

i wasn't sure if the 30 days were up on the 301 i bought at bjs so i didn't buy it. when i came home i checked and still had 2 days left to return it.

so to save anothe 75 dollars, i guess i will pick up the open box if it's still there. i've returned the last open box 301 i bought cause i didn't notice it was missing the power cord. this time i'll make sure this open box is not the same one i returned almost a month ago.

rather be lucky than good.

Did anyone that didn't receive instant credit, still receive a card? I'm wanting to get a PS3 and this is the best deal but I don't know how long I should wait to find out if I've been approved.

One thing I noticed from the fine print "In some instances an application may require additional processing, in which case Instant Credit will be unavailable". Does that mean the credit will be unavailible during the processing, or that I will be "disqualified" (if that's the right word) for the $100 credit?

i am guessing that for some legal reason, they are not allowed to reject you unless it's in mail.

so instead they tell you that they have to review your application.

rather be lucky than good.

do a search...this question has been asked ad-nauseum. PS3's don't really go on sale. The best place is SonyStyle.com or a Sony Style store. Get their Sony credit card and you get a $100 credit on your first statement taking your price effectively down to $299 for the 40 GB. That's the best you can do.

I did the sonystyle credit card deal on Dec. 17, I was approved immediately, my PS3 was shipped the next day (free shipping), Dec. 18th, PS3 arrives on my doorstep tomorrow, Dec. 22nd.

As stated on the sonystyle website, the $100 credit will show up on your statement in 8-12 weeks.

There's really nothing to worry about here, if you get approved for the card, you'll get the credit, you just have to wait 8-12 weeks. The wait time for the $100 credit is a non-issue anyways because the card also comes with no interest for a year.
