kcgr,
I do see that now in the ad which was a bit difficult to read tilting my head to the side.
I guess it would be a crap shoot with the PS3 40GB but they do offer 5 free Blu-ray disc's with a MIR which would make a compelling case.

The PS3 80GB has a video game included inside the box even though it also offers 5 free Blu-ray disc's with a MIR too.

How are you guys lucking out and getting 10% off the sale price at BB??? When you use any coupon at Best Buy their computer system will not take 10% off of a sale price. Only the original price. Unless they override it.

Monstermile,
Yes the BB coupons do list some exclusions on it but not on sale items otherwise it would state that.

it does state that markdowns are taken from REGULAR price, thus excluding sale price items...I've gone through it a number of times with BB employees.

Sup guys, I've recently purchased a PS3 and wish to take advantage of that 5 movie offer, but I've got 2 questions:

1) It says to cut out and mail the UPC code located on the box the PS3 came in, I see 2 barcodes there but neither one is labeled as UPC... which one, if any do I cut and send?

2) It says send a receipt, that raises 2 issues of its own

a) it also says photocopy should be provided, does that mean original+copy or just copy, they don't really word that one well IMHO

b) if I do have to send the original... won't that leave me with no prove of purchase for later use, if I need it?

Can someone who did it successfully clarify, please?

Thank you.

Just cut out the POS bar code (on the top of the box). Make a copy of your original receipt and send the copy of the receipt and the original bar code in to them for the movies.

Yeah, saw that. One day only. I pick it up right away.

It is not cheaper than some online deals. I could even buy it from a guy for$400 but I think I rather spend some more and buy from Frys. My local Frys has a very friendly return policy. I can always exchange if there is problem or even if I do not like it.

Coupons state plain as day that markdowns taken from regular price. Guess some of you are lucking out and getting some really dumb cashiers who don't read and get and even dumber managers to override.

Hi,

Just went purple today, my folks got me a PS3 for Christmas (Gotta love em, I'm 28 years old).

Anyway, I want to do the 5 free movies deal. But my mother bought the PS3 from Amazon, so all I have is the like packing slip/receipt from inside the Amazon box. Will this be sufficient for the deal? It does not have the PS3's serial number on it or anything. Anyone else used that with any luck?

Sorry if this has already been asked, I looked around first.

Happy Holiday!
-Ben

Yep, that will be fine. You also need to include the UPC from the PS3 box.

For good measure you may want to have your parents print out the the email receipt for the purchase.

Yes, it's a $100 card credit at SonyStyle.com. Apply for their credit card online, get instant approval. You can get a PS3 for $299.

Been waiting for a deal to get the Panasonic BD30... saw this at CAG for the Best Buy ad starting 12/30...

Get 10 Free Blu-Ray Disc Movies (5 by mail / 5 instantly) when you buy any Blu-Ray Disc Player // Offer excludes PS3 or Blu-Ray Computer drive

Couple that with a 10% coupon and I think its time to buy. Hopefully its any 5 in the store...

Wonder if the price of the Sony S300 will be back up to normal for this deal. Currently it is $299 with two free instantly. I was going to pick one up for that price. Now I don't know if I should chance waiting.

Abt electronics now has the bd30 for $425.60 so instead of the coupon have BB price match that. That is what I am going to try and do. They will probably say they won't match it because they are offering 5 additional movies but we can only try.

I've tried that, but Best Buy has told me that they cannot match online retailers, only brick and mortar stores located in town. Everyone has been talking about a 10% coupon for Best Buy. Where is it?!

We just went for the sonystyle $100 credit deal on a 40gb PS3. It didn't mention this on SS when you clicked on the 40gb PS3 for $399, but after you add this to your cart and proceed to checkout, they have added a 2nd sixaxis controller for FREE! Weird that it wasn't mentioned anywhere except on checkout. I guess you could say that now the PS3 has become a $250 purchase(if you had planned on purchasing a 2nd $50 controller--which I would of done anyway) It did mention that the 2nd controller was for $0 in the cart and listed it as a promo, but not anywhere else beforehand. Maybe this is a brand new after christmas offer?

Where are you seeing that price? Their website doesn't even have this player listed.

$499 - $399 = $100

$100 / 5 = $20 per disc.

If anything, they are equally good. But for those that don't have a Fry's and that plan on getting 5 BDs anyway, the BB deal is better.

Throw in a 10% off coupon for the BB deal and the Fry's deal stinks in comparison.
