I believe...

I believed it wasn't coming out on a Saturday or Sunday! They did, however get the BD-P1000 & BD-P1400 firmware release dates correct.

The new firmware is a build from 1-28-08, so I guess technically they had it done by the 2nd of Feb.

So do these problems still exist after the latest firmware?

No SD DVD issues were corrected. Also 3:10 to Yuma still doesn't play. Also, Accross the Universe doesn't seem to work either.

This new firmware is a joke.. It completely blows.. It did not fix one standard dvd issue that started with firmware 2.0's arrival. This is a total slap in the face to every BD-P1200 owner. I've said this before, and i will say it again. Samsuck is building the new firmware off the now prior defective 2.0. All of the 2.0 problems have been carried over into the latest firmware. After all this time, the only thing they did was get pirates-3 and a few other titles to play. I cannot believe it!!! Samsuck must have 5th graders programing firmware for them.

It too bad because the first few firmwares were very good, and standard dvd's played just fine. I don't know what happened during 2.0's build.. But who ever did it is a complte clown. He probably stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.. lol

Hey!

I have just downloaded the latest patch and all titles work fine now! Finally! I have verified these films (which all failed previously):

- Pirates of the Caribbean 3
- Pixar Shorts DVD
- Live Free or Die Hard

Cheers :-)

Have you tried to access the pop-up menu on POTC3? I didn't think so because if you did you would see that the 1200 is not fixed. Same thing for the bonuc disc for POTC3 - it won't play. Yes, it does actually play the movie but try navigating the menus and bugs appear. My conclusion - NOT FIXED.

Hey krisjan,

Unless I'm missing something, I have no problems navigating the menus. In POTC3 I have watched the bloopers, set the language to Spanish, etc. It's still very slow and the transitions between features (options) are not smooth... but it works for me.

Which bugs are you talking about?

When I access the pop-up menu while the movie is playing, the left side of the screen is missing the menu descriptions. The right side is fine.

Update,

The latest 2.1, and now 2.2 firmware have been tested.. Sorry to say.. All of the SD Interactive issues still remain. Samsung is building the newer firmware off of the version 2.0 firmware.. What that means to us is that these issues will continue to get carried on, and into all future releases until someone at Samsung realizes what has happened.

Did FW 2.2 fix the audio drop outs? I don't care much for the interactive stuff.

No,, And i don't know why they (Samsung) are soooo clueless to this problem they created when they released the 2.0 firmware. I always thought firmware was supose to improve a product, not make it worse off than before.
