I've gotten all the components I need for my theater room and just finished buying some furniture. What I need is some color advices for the wall. Here is a picture of the carpet, furniture and walls. I've seen where most people paint their walls some shade of red if they have dark furniture, but what do you when when your furniture is red?

What do you do? You do what ever you want! That is the beauty of the home theater. Do you have a theme or a central idea for designs? For instance, my walls/colors are a burgundy/black combo, because I was trying to mimic the older theaters I remember from my childhood.

Colors help to mimimize reflections which will cause bad conditions for viewing, that is of course why lots of people chose the darker colors. Think of just about every theater you have visited.....
Best,
Tom

Paint whatever color floats your boat.

Personally, I think a dark khaki color in that room would make the red pop and look really good.

I have a red couch and went with a dark mahogany color and love it. I'm not an interior designer, so I'm sure there was a better choice. But for the theater it seemed like the best dark choice.

Lurker extraordinare!

Do you have a pic you can put up. That's one of the ideas I was tossing around.

Agreed. A dark brown/tan would like great with the red.

@OP. I picked up a color wheel as well as a paint sample system (it has samples of almost all their colors) at Sherwin Williams and that has made all the difference.

Here's the best one I have that shows the color. Right now my theater is in a state of disarray, so I can't take any new ones. I really should take new ones soon.

It was a simple mahogany from home depot in their flattest paint.
