It really looks great! I am currently building the bar section of my to be home theater. I am struggling with choosing a stain color and wondered what color stain you used.

LOL...I just thought it was funny on yours that it said not to post. I was really using it for reference but nothing to report on mine and I didn't want to TTT my own thread....

Finally got some updates.
I completed the tile above the bar sink area. Here are some before, during and after pics. I used all HD in stock products and this was my first "on wall" tile job. Everything was not that bad if your a little handy. I was suprised how easily the tile stuck in place and the ease to work with it. It is not the best but I think for my fist time it didn't come out too bad. The only problem is the wife wants me to tiles our shower now =(

Marked my bottom lines and installed strips of wood so the tile could rest on them and keep them level as I went along.

Started the first set from end to end

2nd set of tiles installed

3rd set of tiles installed with edging on top

Top portion completed, now took off the strips of wood and installed the side tiles. This is the completed un-grouted look.

After grouting.... still need to finsh the left side trim edging, I decided to not install it like the top edging (with the lip of the edging under the tile) I need to grind the edge down and install. I will post some pics of the final outcome once I get the sink back in and all trimwork completed.

Looks great I would already consider you a pro!! In all honesty the shower will be much the same unless you are doing the entire shower including the base, they you get into a bit more work with the shower pan and such.

Thanks all for the kind compliments. Of course she wants the walls, the floor the ceiling in tile... I've been researching how to do the floor to keep it waterproof, seems like a lot to know and do but I understand cause I don't want it to have mold or to leak. I like the Schluter systems and may try that route. Anyone use this stuff before ?

Dennis,

I've dropped in on this build from time to time - looks great!

I have a question about your helmets. Are those all full-sized helmets on the shelf about the bar or are those mini's??

Also, did YOU get the Bilitnikoff autograph???

We are looking to do helmets but are thinking of the gumball helmets. The reason is we want to do NFL and college and not only do I not have enough room for all of those, I don't have that much $$$!!!

MUST get the Browns and Buckeyes at LEAST as mini's though!!

Sorry for the delay...The helmets are the Mini helmets on the soffit above the bar, I have 8 full size helemets including the Bilinikoff but have zero room to display them. Got the Blinikoff signed personally when I lived in LA around 1996 at a signing he was at. Even the Mini's are stupidly expenseive...I think it was $600 for the full 32 NFL teams, I tried to block out how much it was...LOL. I should have just went with the gumball helmets and saved me some money...I wanted to also do the big ten mini's but just can't justify the cost anymore.
