Looking for more advise here:
We thought that it might look nice to put a little accent "brick" around the screen. (stole that idea from a couple of theaters we saw here!). We found this:
at Floor and Decor for $8.50/piece (2 feet x 6 inches).
The original thought was to put the screen on this wall (over the window):
and then put the brick around it on that wall. The problem with that is mounting the projector. If you can see where the pool table light is now, I have the light attached pretty low because there are no studs any higher than that. Because of that, I would have to mount the projector at the base of the low part there, and it would hang down pretty far (it would probably be about 5ish feet above the ground if mounted there). We tried it and just didn't like the way it looked.
So here's the latest plan and we are looking for thoughts. We keep the screen on the wall where it is now:
We are thinking of centering the screen on the part of the wall between the wall all the way to right and where the ceiling gets low to the left (about where the pool cues are right now). And then we will still "brick" that part of the wall.
To help with separation, we are also considering building pillars or adding something on that wall.
Open to thoughts and suggestions!
