Steve,

Looking good. Question....when you put that shelf together (prior to attaching to your soffit) did you only use glue or did you screw/glue or nail/glue the pieces together?

Your shelf/setup looks very sturdy and secure. Should work out well. I only have one complaint. With your attention to detail and superb workmanship I would have expected you to at least paint the heads of the lags black. Come on man! Get with it!

I glued and screwed so it shall hold as far as that goes....

Oh yeah, tell me about the "To Do Lists". I live by them. What really matters is WHERE on the list something is.

When my wife asks me to do something around the house I usually respond by saying something like well that is just great honey, that is number 1,847 on the "To Do List" I'll get right on that. Her response...Just move it to #1. It usually gets done!

Have you considered a different route that may make her even happier? Simply place everything that needs to be on your "To Do List" at #1 just list them 1, 1a,1b,1c,etc. this way when she asks about something you simply can reply thats #1 on the list honey and I was just about to get that done
My problem is that my list is simply too long and I run out of letters in the alphabet

DONT LOOK NOW SOMEONE ORDERED THEIR PROJECTOR!!!!!! I placed my order today from projectorpeople.com (AVS sponsor) and I am super excited and CAT wait until it arrives. It will be here Friday. I splurged for 2nd day air as I just couldnt wait! After alot of research and a small budget I went with the panasonic pt-ax200u. This unit has awesome reviews both by the pros and many of you fellow avs'ers. Thanks to Kezug for answering a few (maybe a few dozen) of my questions regarding this unit so I am sure I will be totally satisfied. Another thing for those of you preparing or researching projectors I can not tell you enough to atleast consider projectorpeople for your purchase. They are the absolute best and their customer service (IMO) is second to none. I had never heard of them until I started on here and I must say that all the customer reviews are all true. Lisa there was super helpful in answering my many questions over the past few months in my search for the pj that I wanted and would fit my budget and my space. Now its on to the longest 2 days of my life...........waiting..........

Someone wants to watch TV on a really BIG screen, maybe some boilermaker basketball? We'll see how much IUSteve gets done once that shiny new projector gets mounted. Congrats on the new toy!!!

I have the 100 and you will be very happy with the 200. Congrats and a nice price too! Of course it does not really exist until you post some pics...otherwise you have no projector!

Don't worry guys, we will keep the pressure on him to finish...at least post pics of his uhm, err...progress...with the projector MOUNTED! Doh!

Allrighty then, its about time. But like the others have said, once you set it up, you may be hard pressed to put it away until you finish your build. But you MUST do just that.

When I got my projector, I was only about 30% done and had to bring it out to do some measurements. I think we only watched 1, maybe 2 movies with it installed, but I quickly would put it away. And by away, I mean, back in the box as delivered!

Man, you got it at a great price too.

Thanks guys but I am probably about 80% done and my son has been hounding me to about getting the pj, he doesnt understand all the "other" work that has to be done to complete the space. Plus I wanted to have it in time for some NFL playoffs and the start of Big 10 basketball!! I am super pumped and I am hoping that maybe the opposite will happen and that the presence of the pj will motivate me to finish the little things that I have left. Besides I dont have much left.....

Man.....Another great theater that WON'T get completed. Oh but having the PJ mounted WILL motivate me! Ok, if that is what you want to believe then that is what the "New reality" will be.

Ok all heckling aside great choice on a PJ. I think you will not be disappointed. Should serve you extremely well. I'm considering projecorpeople when I get to that point. I have heard nothing but good things about them.

Haha I just came home for lunch and was hoping the neighbor lady (thats who I am having sign for it since i am at work) would come over and say its here safe and sound but I just checked the tracking number and its still "out for delivery" so yes I am staring out the window hoping it ends up here during this hour.....and hoping that something doesnt go wrong where she has to leave and since its signature required I wouldnt be able to get it until Monday

That my friend is laugh out loud freakin funny! I have truly thought about taking the afternoon as it is going to kill me to be at work knowing that thing could be delivered any minute. And worse yet that something could get screwed up and it would end up spending the weekend at the UPS terminal

So I come home to take my lunch like any ordinary day except this day I can only hope that the UPS guy shows up while I am here because this thing is signature required. Now I planned on having the neighbor lady sign for it but she was going to be in and out today so it was going to be hit or miss. So anyway I was getting ready to leave to head back to work extremely saddened at the vacancy of the UPS guy when no sooner that I was about to lock the door behind me here pulls up the truck and out walks the most beautiful sight I have ever seen.......................

Ok so it wasnt quite that sight it looked a little more like this........

The Panasonic Pt-ax200u of my dreams. And the rest as they is "Loganed"!!!! The production here has officially stopped!!
I am the happiest man on the face of the earth at this point......except for one thing.....I HAVE TO FREAKIN GO BACK TO WORK!!!!!
So fast forward a few hours and I am back to my happy place......
I now present you a few customary "opening of the box" photos....
Inside of box #1 is.......Box #2...great job!!!

And inside Box #2.........packaging......again very nice.

And of course my new baby...........

No no not that kind of baby.....THIS kind of baby.......

Now thats what I am talking about kids. It may not be much but to a guy that has never been involved in the world of projectors its ALOT!!

Oh yea I almost forgot my high dollar screen........This baby was a pain to put together and hang let me tell ya......

Ok I admit its a $11 white sheet from Walmart but hey its going to work until I decide a screen size......

Ok,

Great score! Your UPS "Man" beats mine.

But my plumber is "Top notch" and I really don't mind the "plumbers crack". Sure the service call is a little more than the norm, but I think its worth it!

I am currently experiencing some technical difficulties. I received my new Directv HD receiver and upon setup I can receive SD channels but cant get HD channels yet. I have HD programming as I have an HD DVR upstairs but for some reason when I click on the HD channels in the theater it gives me the "searching for signal" message.......anyone ever had this problem or have a possible solution? I dont have a phone line hooked up to the receiver but I also dont have one hooked to the receiver upstairs as we dont have a land line any longer....I mean its almost 2010 isnt this normal? So I dont know if this is causing my issues so anyone that can possibly help please do. I tried to google this without any luck but then again I am terrible with google searches.
