Hard feelings?! Moi?! HA! I fart in your general direction!!

Besides, once I got out of that pool I've been way too busy riding my new Harley to worry about feelings! Although I am a bit choked up about using up almost all of what remained of my beloved woodpile to build this sucker.

Some of us will do just about anything to use up our woodpiles!

where the hell do you get all these pictures? Surely the internet is not bloated with this many crap-useless pictures just waiting for you to stumble upon them...I find it amazing. Everyday, if it is not your thread it is someone elses...I mean to that every time, you have to save it and upload it to photobucket...you simply have too much time on your hands

That's because I don't waste my time on fruitless trivialities like working on my HT build.

Ok I have been Loganed, now I have to worry about some type of measuring devise (ie. the Hanesometer) being applied to my build. OTOH is this something that is requested like being Loganed or is this something that just happens without request and is sort of a type of punishment applied at the discretion of hanesian.

This Hanesometer thing seems to be taking on a life of it's own. The irony is it wasn't even my idea - if memory serves this came out of some banter on someone else's build thread about a month or so back. Was it cane.mba's or cuzed2, or you RT, or who? I'll have to track it down. Anyone remember off hand?

But I'm not above appropriating someone else's intellectual property, especially when so little intellect is involved. Besides, I've got nothing else to do right now since I'm vigorously avoiding working on by HT build.

As to your question, while apparently pretty much any Tom, Dick or Harry can be Loganed (although strangely I have yet to fall prey to the Loganator hammer despite making not a lick of progress on my build in weeks!), being Hanesamatized (yeah, I think I finally just stumbled onto the proper verb for it! ) is a distinction reserved for those elite few who really deserve whatever they have coming, and then some.

While actual criteria for being Hanesamatized is rather hard to pin down at this point (perhaps due in part to the fact that I never gave it so much as a moment's thought) early indications are that it might be very selectively bestowed on those who truly distinguish themselves in some special way - often but not always involving a woodpile - but always involving an uncanny failure to duck in time when boredom strikes me and I fire up the dreaded Hanesometer.

I'm not sure why the Hanesometer doesn't actually read Hanesometer on it instead of Grrr-O-Meter, but I suspect it might be because I picked it up second hand to save a few bucks, or perhaps because I lack the photoshopping skills needed to perform such a feat. Or both.

But I digress. Perpetually and habitually.

So far only a few people have been Hanesamatized, I think. Pretty sure. It's not like I was keeping track or thinking anyone would remember, so I may be wrong, but my best guess is that cane.mba and BWCA already got the needle, but I suppose justice demands that no one complicit in the creation of the award - like cuzed & you, RTROSE - should escape the dreaded needle.

So here goes: << blowing into microphone. Tap, tap, tap. Is this thing on? Can you hear OK? Good. >>

cuzed2 & RTROSE ... you have been officially Hanesamatized!!

Next time, try ducking quicker.

Welcome to the club, I'm not sure that's a good thing. However, RTROSE has the distinction of being Logan'd and Hanesamatized now that's quite the feat!

Thanks,

I want it to be noted that I am seeking relief from the hansometer due to lack of evidence. As I stated on my thread. NO HANESAMATATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!!!

I Believe... there was a time, not so long ago, that you could visit AVS of an evening and casually browse the build threads for inspiration in the form of continually updated pictures of truly amazing theaters and game-rooms.

A time when you could find not only innovative design ideas and photo documentation of a build but detailed solutions to problems faced by all Home Theater builders.

Now we get:

SO I SAY TO YOU, my fellow AVSers, let US take back our beloved AVS from those who would rate our builds on the size of our WOOD PILES instead of our hard won progress and innovative design ideas (rather or not they ever become a reality)...

Wow.. sounds like a De-Hanesamatized movement is under foot! I think I have to side with BWCA (even with the Large Furry Mammel Status). Left over wood is not the same as lumber purchased for a project and laying around unused. Left over woodpiles should be known as firewood... (Disclaimer never burn pressure treated or any type of treated lumber).

Thanks,

Mike

Whoa! This has certainly taken a nasty turn.

Let it be know to one and all whether I have been Loganed or Hanesamatized I hope all still grade/rate/encourage me on my progress or lack thereof not just on the LABELS that have been applied to me.

Besides I DO come to this thread to see his "wood pile" but also to see just what "useless" things he comes up with. The entertainment value of this thread alone should ensure its survival regardless of the construction content. Besides who knows during the mold reduction phase of his build he may have ingested some mind altering spores from space.

Now what are you going to do with that wall/fireplace?

hanesian asked for advice, he received advice, he refused to use the provided advice, he was abused for refusing, and then substantial abusing ensued all around. I guess it was inevitable that we would get back on topic at some point.

Ahhhh don't take me the wrong way, after all I posted all the useless pics.

All I'm doing is siding with BWCA on one issue, I have no doubt that he'll earn the much coveted HANESAMATATION soon enough for some other misgiving. Since he is obviously making himself a very large target (size pun intended). I am brave enough to admit that I enjoy the humor injected throughout these threads. I am not ashamed. Let's be honest if all we wanted was information handed out without some wit we would just RTFM (Read the * Manual)...

My only cavet is that Hanes has to be able to take the punishment as well as deliver it. So far he's taking it over and over and over.

Thanks,

Mike

I enjoy the banter too, I wouldn't have bothered to post in his thread otherwise... With hanesian's thread AVS is one stop shopping... I don't have to go to an other site for my daily comic strip.

For some reason In my head I keep referring to him as "Hanson" though...

Hear Ye, Hear Ye - Good citizens of the Kingdom!

His Royal Majesty, King Hanesian the First, does hereby proclaim, and commands me to communicate to his lowly subjects, the following:

That whereas some historic figures have been known to become power hungry, His Supreme Highness, King of All Lands Everywhere, Ruler of All he Surveys, wishes it to be known the He is not like all those types of imperfect Monarchs, and is instead, the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-perfect type of Supreme Being;

and that whereas it has become known to His Greatness that there is some rumbling amongst the rabble of the land about certain recent pronouncements regarding woodpiles and Hanesometers and such;

and whereas His Supreme Coolness respects his subjects wish to complain, as is their King-given rights as the King's mere possessions and chattel;

Therefore, let it be known, that having heard his subjects' cries, Mighty King Hanesian the First has hereby decreed that he does not give two hoots about what you might think, and that despite objections to the contrary he is still the same old humble everyday omnipotent deity he always was, and always will be, world without end, amen.

Ergo, requests denied. Rulings stand. So let it be written. So let it be done!

Now run along, as his Highness has important and very private business of the Realm to attend to.
