Hello all!!!

I need help deciding on what rack to go with. I see most of yours, but many of you have alot more equipment than I do. I will have 6 spaces total. Would I be better off just building my own from lumber? Using sanded plywood, covering it, etc... Or buying a rack. I don't understand if half of these racks from MA come with shelf's? Or is that someting I have to buy extra.

Please help me to pick one out. I need 6 shelfs. 2 atleast 6-8 inches tall. The rest do not have to be more than 4-5 inches tall.

Any help is great, which shelfs to use with what rack, and where to buy...

Thanks in advance!!

I would build your own, gives you more flexibility

Check out THIS thread or maybe THIS thread.

MA racks don't come with shelves unless you score one on craigslist w/shelves. The shelves are pricey, too.

In Rack terms every thing is measured in spaces or "U"s. A space is 1.75" high. I forget the exact width approximately 19". Maybe exactly. So for your 6-8" ones you'd need 4U or 5U shelves. For the others 3U, maybe 2U.

The racks can be pricey too. One option is to just do rack rails (~$50, shelves extra). I did this in my old build, the rails are described as rear rails, and labeled RR and then a number of spaces. RR42 or RR35 are common. I think mine was 35. You can see pics here:

MA style racks tend to cost more than DIY, but there is a coolness to them.
