Man, all that work and testing on making that concrete counter ... only to meet an early demise! And I hope you found a way to handle all that lifting without re-injuring your shoulder. Like maybe your son whose head is barely visible in the top photo ... he looks like he'd be a big helper!

Good to see you kicking back into gear on so many fronts lately. Trying to churn through that Honey-Do list before college football season begins again in earnest?!

Thanks RT, she was willing to help but really easier for to keep my Jr Foremen out of the way. Now that the concrete is out I'm pretty excited about the granite as well. The only downside is my bar top will only be 12", not really deep enough for a bar top but I have future plans to build a curved bar in the arch area. Same concept that Big has, but not to his scale or level of finish.

Thanks,

Mike

My little helper is pretty awesome for a 2 year old. He tells me "no Daddy, not like that!", and "here Daddy turn, turn, turn", "Daddy, let me do it", and finally I usually get a "good job Daddy!" with applause when I'm done. He want's to be in the mix so bad, and he'll do anything I ask of him, except move out of the way.

As far as my shoulder, the 5lbs limit should be lifted next week and then I can really get to work lifting the important things!

Thanks,

Mike

Man that looks super sharp. Nice choice. I really like the way it set off the cabinets. Well done!

The Bar looks great Mike.

You can find a large selection of corbels on ebay in all species for about 50-60% of retail.

Man you stop in once every 6 months and you'd expect something new to be done.....

At least posting digs on my thread doesn't require that you check the Old Thread Warning box acknowledging that, "It is very likely that it does not need any further discussion and thus bumping it serves no purpose."

As if either of our build threads ever served any purpose ...

Guilty as charged! You know you just get to a point where it's little tweaks here and there, nothing post worthy. At this point we're just enjoying the fruits of my checkbook (I put very little of my own labor into this). The end goal right, isn't that what the purpose is?

Thanks,

Mike

There is supposed to be a purpose to all this?!

Crap! Who knew?!
