I learned the foam used for a nice couch is not cheap. It is petroleum based and the price rises and falls with oil.

There is a new soy based cushioning, I saw it at a work function the other day. They're using it in combat boots, etc, the guy said that it was not subject to the same price fluctuations. No idea if its cheaper, or if you even care.

I figured you'd want this in your thread too.

Nah, not a real threat at all. I just like that they open out and will not be in the way.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but I don't think that outfit is very practical for plumbing purposes. I think OSHA would just have a field day.

Yes, you are probably correct on the OSHA point, but more importantly is the built in "Plumbers Crack" which is far more appealing than your standard run of the mill "Plumbers Crack". You have to have priorities!

Sunday afternoon I attacked the slate tile by the garage door, because it needed to go. This is one of the tasks I have been dreading since we decided to go and build a bar. Ripping stone off cement is not a fun or easy task. But, I had the tools to make the job a little easier:

In the above picture you see an air hammer, my work gloves, mask, hearing protection with i-pod. That air hammer worked like a charm. I attacked the stone with that air hammer like Lyndsey Lohan attacks a line of coke...relentless. The air hammer was easy to control, slicing through the slate with little effort. I had to be carful not to hammer into existing concrete and I admit I did dig a little too deep in a couple of spots. But, overall the job was difficult but not impossible

It was so dusty, that I could not even take a picture of the finished job. According to nerds and guys that have never dated a woman, those are not dust particles in the picture, but spiritual orbs.

Got to love the air hammer, power, power, power.....Yeah baby! Bring it on. When I built my deck I needed to demolish the patio step and part of the patio so I rented an electric jack hammer. That was awesome and a lot of fun. There are just some power tools that make you feel like more of a man when your using them. The one I rented was similar to this one.

Worked like a charm.

Well I did get a short instructional session with her, but her "rental fee" was much more than my budget could handle. Oh, and I could only imagine what Mrs. RTROSE would have done had I brought her home.

I've been busy in the basement as well, I got my replacement float for my emergency sump pump today so I have been busy installing it and redoing and tiding up all of the wires and hoses in my sump pits. Not exactly riveting progress, but if my sump pumps don't work there won't be a basement.

Looking forward to seeing the fruits of the "Dude's" labor on the upholstery work. Out of curiosity knowing what you do for a living did you do a criminal background check to make sure he is not fronting for some type of mafia family?

Just joking of course.

Well there is! Not a whole lot tho. I tidied up the wiring behind both of the TVs (pics to follow), and had the Upholsetery fella came by again. He took measurements, checked them twice, gave me a thumbs up and said he would be back in a week or so.

What's next? The French door should arrive sometime this week and I can not, repeat, can not wait for it to be installed. Going to be alot of fun hanging out in the backyard and be able to grab a beer without having to go through the garage. I forsee wavy lines in the grass from the lawn mower

Not a whole heck of a lot goin on 'round these parts. Mostly just waiting on the door and bench to arrive.

This is the word of O'Shea.....Thanks be to Beer.

You need to do what my neighbor has done - his garage is a drive through - he comes in on his tractor, has a cooler all set up, grabs one and drives right out.

His lawn looks like crap!

+1 On the shaky pics dude, what the $#@!*&. You're supposed to take pics before consuming adult beverages.

My favorite beers....

1. Guinness
2. Killian's
3. Blue Moon
4. New Castle

The best beer though is this type of beer.

RTROSE

Nah the pic sucks because I took it with my camera phone. I was to lazy to walk upstairs and grab the camera.

Oh,

I did forget to give a nod to the popcorn maker. Nice score. Where did you get it?

Nothing like some fresh popcorn, a cold brew (or two) and a few friends to have a great evening.

Regards,

RTROSE

Speaking of beers and breweries. I can remember as a kid when generic brands first made an appearance, the grocery store my parents used had a generic isle. All the products were in the same type of packaging. A simple white label and black lettering with simple descriptions. Green Beans, Corn, Rice and the Piece de Resistance BEER. I don't know why this had stuck in my mind, but it has and when a discussion of different beers is entered into this always pops into my head and I feel compelled to mention it. Hmmmmm..........
