Hey everybody,
I'm new here, been following AVS for the past year but no posts. Thanks for all the advice.

My new condo has been finally completed and with your help got my living room media setup completed.

All the wiring: Monoprice.com
Projector: OPTOMA HD66
TV: LG 550PK60 Plasma
AMP: Denon 3808CI
Playstation 3 for BluRay content
WDTV Live for network streaming
Accuscreen 100" automatic projector screen.
Klipsch Reference speakers (RC62 center, RF62 fronts , RF10 rears) and planning to install 2 in-ceiling speakers above the sofa shortly to upgrade to a 7.1 setup.

My initial idea was to have an affordable and attractive setup suited for condo living. The living room is open space and is about 16 by 35 feet long that's pretty much what got me the idea to enhance it into something more special, its a long room.

Having been a new construction, i had the chance to spend sometime with the contractor and design a special look to hide the 100" automated projector screen and at the same time try to opt for a more modern look. Luckily they let me setup all my custom wiring, etc before the walls came up.

The main expense was the custom wall design.

I'm very happy with the results so far and looking forward to upgrade to 7.1 shortly by installing 2 in ceiling speakers to be placed above the sofa for main surrounds and keep the RF-10 towers for back surrounds, their placement is somewhat great I believe. Any recommendations on this end would be much appreciated. I'm looking to keep this on a budget as Il be probably moving within 2 - 3 years. I found monoprice.com in-ceilling solutions to be quite decent, probably will opt for their 8" version for this project.

Here are some pictures.

I really like your tv/screen wall. Is that tile behind the speakers or some type of metallic wall covering?

Mind if I ask where you got your sconces?

Thanks guys,
The material behind the speakers is a white glass (glossy) ceramic title that's formed of little 1 inch by 1 inch mosaic, just gives a little extra shine at night....

Nice setup!

Who makes that sectional/couch? Where did you find it?

Cheers,

Richard

Spaceman, the light scones we're ordered from a supplier in the states... I know I had to wait 2 months for them as it seemed to be a special order, they had different designs as well......I believe they we're about 85$ each. I could probably find the company name if you need, just msg me and Il see if I could find some old invoice on this.

Richard got it ordered from a local store here in Montreal, Canada... (JC PERRAULT, try googling this store... they sell nice furniture here locally, you might be able to get a link to the company. I got pretty lucky on it as well, came out very well priced compared to similar looking leather designs.

Very nice and clean looking room. A bit envious.

One bit of advice is to turn the sofa 90 degrees clockwise.

Again, clean and elegant.

I am thinking of doing something similar in my house, but dont want to customize too much as I plan on moving within two years or so.

I too only have one main living space for a tv and projector screen. I have total light/window control, but I dont want my whole living room painted really dark.

I guess my question for you is: With the extremely light color pallete you have, how are the reflections/image quality when watching your PJ?

Its actually not bad at all, I was afraid too of going too light.... but I can say that i'm very satisifed... I have an automated control system and set all the wall lightning at 5% at night.... its barely there.... and I can say the effect is great.... relaxing athmosphere. I just wish I had a wider wall where the tv/pj screen is installed....

Thanks guys!
Very happy so far.
Funny part is that the projector barely gets used, at first it was fun every night... but these days we're just used to the Plasma! oh well.

Sorry to bump an old thread but around November I am going to move in to my new condo so I am trying to get as much idea as I can and still looks, nice/classy looking.

Do you have any surround speakers?

Nice couch, is that Natuzzi? I am thinking of getting the Natuzzi Avana.

The surround speakers are 2 klipsch towers RF10 at the end of the room, not the perfect placement but satisfied so far. I'm planning to install 2 in-ceiling speakers right above the sofa to be used as main surrounds and keep the towers for back surround to have a 7.1 setup.
