I got the Sony RM-AV2100 LCD touchscreen remote. Say goodbye to all those remotes! Very cool. I'm going to follow an idea by another member, that is I'm going to purchase a remote control dimmer to control the lighting when I'm starting a movie. Great dramatic effect!

Go directly to www.remotecentral.com. That's the best source for everything Pronto! Also, be patient. The first couple of attempts at programming will be frustrating if you plan on using the PC software, Pronto Edit. But as soon as you get over the steep initial learning curve it will go very smoothly. You'll enjoy the remote very much.!!

Well, I did treat myself to a Tice Solo HC Power Conditioner, and (although not really HT related) a Sony DCR-PC100 MiniDV camcorder...

A bunch more DVDs knocked off my wish list. I think I'm up to about 140 movies now... still about 75 to go until I've got everything I want (except, of course, movies not yet released on DVD).

For the new Pronto owner - it's intimidating at first but spend a few hours with it and you'll be addicted. I've put in about 40 hours on mine so far and am almost done (for now!). Not looking forward to when I pick up a new receiver and have to program it all over again =)

Good..... Bad..... I'm the guy with the gun.

I got a 400 disk sony changer. This finally rounds out my inexpensive home theater. I now have every component. Next is a bigger, and I mean a lot bigger, tv. Unfortunately it will probably be next christmas untill that happens.

I preordered the ROCK scaler, two Stryk HE 15" subs with the passive radiators and box kits. Oh, and two Carver Silver 9-t mono amps to drive the subs! Cann't wait for it all to get together!

I got myself a RCA MM36100 36" high res monitor/HDTV. Also a new RCA home theater reciever ( my old one did not have Digital 5.1) and subwoofer. Next will be a Dish 6000 system so I can acually get HDTV signals http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif I was given a wireless keyborad to use with the new TV. I will have my home automation PC hooked up to the VGA input so the keyboard will be handy. I will be able to web surf on the TV plus email and post on boards like this http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif I usually get socks and underwear, so this year I went out and got what I wanted! Like they say, if you want a job done right, do it yourself! LOL I guess I should work more OT now to pay for it all!

Well, besides being under the weather, I had a wonderful X-Mas!! I snagged a couple dozen DVDs and a Cretors Popcorn machine for my HT room. Their truly is nothing better than popcorn popped from a "real" popcorn machine.

Happy Holidays everyone!!

We're putting together our first home theater system:

Bose 15 6-speaker surround
Toshiba 56H80 widescreen
Sony 860 300-disc DVD
Sony 945 Receiver
Sony VHS player

For the 5~6 grand Santa spent, I'm now defenseless against any spending my wife does for the next 18 months. Oh well, if you have to watch Toystory, Rugrats, Teletubbies, LittlePeople, etc., you might as well watch in style!
