I have a 40" entryway into my living room. Aside from that, the room is completely enclosed. I have blackout curtains on the two windows inside the room, but I'm still getting some ambient light from the entryway. Here is what I have to work with:

maybe some heavy cloth/cotton/bead on string door drape. heavy density drape is also good for blocking/damping sound

Do you prefer to hang something instead of installing a door because you dont want a door taking up that space? If so, a pocket door would work well

Pocket door would be ideal, but I don't have the skills to put one in, and I would imagine it would cost quite a bit as well. Unless it's only about $2-300 for a pocket door, I will have to settle with some sort of drapery
