Hi everyone,
Im looking for some inspiration on how to re-organize the cables in my media cabinet. I had everyting set up they way I liked.... then I had to go an upgrade. Show off your OCD side!

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Man, this thread has the potential to be just the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. There is no middle ground. That said, there is a fair bit of this in the rack thread.

Ill take a look over there as well, and I like the idea of the "defeated" orginization, lets see some disasters too.

Not *my* rack... I saw this, looked at the guy(s) responsible for it, and just asked, "Really?"

Note the use of color coded cables to differentiate the various uses and connection types...

I'm not super-anal about cable dressing, but wow. (be glad this was in a test lab and not a 'real' environment)

Good thing they used the different colors, otherwise it might be hard to find the cable in question LOL

Easy! You find a cable hooked to a switch port that's not lit ('cause that means that no one is using it, right?), unhook that and move it to where you need it, and ignore the rest. Someone else will deal with it.

(like I said, this is an R&D/test lab and not a production environment nor a customer installation - so it's more funny than sad. Cobbler kids' shoes and all...)

While this is not my HT, I did play a small part in it's design & construction.

Well, if making up a DIY 15' x 100" Screen and choosing all that A/V Gear, Speakers, Floor Tactiles, and Star Field could be deemed "small". But even so, after a read, no one can doubt the tremendous"DIY" effort and resulting accomplishments of the linked-to Thread's Author.
