I pose an interesting question, but hopefully not a unique one. I'm sure everyone has at one time received gift cards from a family member for a relatively small dollar amount.

My question: If given $75-$100 to a place like amazon, buy.com, or walmart what addition would you make to your home theater? Blu-Rays? A little soundproofing? A piece of equipment that is just out of reach without the gift card?

I ask because this is my predicament. I have been sitting on $100 in gift cards to amazon since Christmas, trying to decide what to buy. I'm a college student currently so my equipment is mostly entry level (Sony HtiB and Infocus X1a projector with a lovey bed sheet as a screen, try not to laugh ) and I really don't know what direction to go in.

If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

If you're handy..... DIY screen using primered artist canvas (or other substrate) and paint for one of MississippiMan's screen paint formulations.

A media storage hard drive.

Call the $100 in gift cards a good start to a PS3.

With a 480P pj and Dolby Digital, cheap dvds over bluray.

I'd save it until I needed it.

A Roku for streaming content. You get to use the college internet connection, right? Might as well stream as much free stuff as you can. Then, when you get more Amazon gift cards NEXT Christmas, you can use those to stream (rent) just released movies.
