My situation:

AV/Family room has one side open to the lower floor and needs to double as informal living room. I do not want a LCD screen to dominate the wall, 60 percent of the time we will not use it. I was referred to a tv lift system, I viewed at touchstonehomeproducts, that hides the screen.

The room is 15'x12' and I would like to have some low profile speakers (Bose?) and a whole house music system in the cabinet.

The cabinet is internet order only and seems nice but is not cheap. Anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

Thanks

I just remember the Jake Leno's TV comes up with a jolt I don't like. Aesthetically I would prefer a TV hidden behind a wall, like in James Bonds' and a motorized painting slides over to hide it!

Solution: FREE. Explanation: I will have to charge$ you.

Thought about the motorized painting route. However that leaves me still needing a place to conceal the Roku, Blueray, etc...
Plus to do that right you need to start cutting the wall...not too sure about doing that.

Yes indeed would take some work but the result... wow gets you one of those James Bond effect! if u don't want to disturb current wall, can build a "false" wall in front of it, but course you lose, what 6"(?) of your room.

AV equipment ez to concealed behind any smoked door cabinet.

The motorized painting for my 46" LCD adds $4K, or twice the cost of the TV/speakers(company is FrameMyTV). I seem to remember seeing somewhere another company that has a manual solution but cannot think of it now.
