I'm sure each manufacture varies slightly to what they consider a small, medium or large room, but I used the estimates from the speaker manufacturer, Atlantic Technology since I have Atlantic's.

Per their web site:

Small - Medium <1,800 cu. ft.
Medium 1,800 - 2,500 cu. ft.
Medium to Large 2,500 - 5,000 cu. ft.
large >5,000 cu. ft.

Hope this helps

Thanks, so if my living room is 20 x 14 x 7 feet, that would make it 1960 cu. ft. a medium size room.

Correct - however, if the room is open to another room, you should also include a portion of that space as well.
