The overall value and cost I have paid for my 5.1 system, receiver, BD player and receiver is about $4700. About 1500 more due to the upgrade from the Epson 8350 to the Panasonic AE7000U (it has 3D and 6x as much potential contrast ratio).

I was going to spend $5000 on just the audio but decided it wasn't worth it for me and that going smaller and cheaper was the best route, for me.

Haven't tried the projector yet as I have to pick it up next Friday, but I hope I made a good decision and that the 3D will start to pay for itself in a year when more movies come out in this format (good movies). The Avengers and Spiderman are a good start IMO.

Anyone else feel buyer's remorse when they extend their budget and get something better?

With me, it is usually tyhe opposite. I have sometimes wished I had spent a bit more and gotten some feature or performance upgrade. Just remember that nothing is final and you will likely be upgrading in a few years anyway smile.gif

Agreed. I bought the Panny 4K on deal and should have waited two or three months for the 7K.
