Hi,

I was researching home theatre speakers for my dedicated home theatre of 22 X 15 and came across

Revel Concerta M10 / C10 / M8 / B120 Home-Theater Speaker System

I live in Pakistan so cannot sample these.

Can anyone advise if there are better choices out there for the same price.

How does this compare with atlantic technology 1400 system.

Regards
Hussain

Good speakers, i prefer

Focal Chorus V or PSB Imagine Series, just my opinion....I did listen to the Revels and wasnt crazy about them. The two other suggestions are in the same price range. I use Outlaw subs(2xLFMplus) with Focal.

For dedicated HT I would only consider speakers capable of reference level playback with modest amplification. I do not think the Revels can do this.

Here is a great post explaining why reference level playback is important for HT as well as providing an (incomplete) list of loudspeakers that meet the criteria .

good luck

Hi,

On recommendation of Dennis (famed home theatre layout expert) I snapped up a 7.0 atlantic technology 2200 speaker set for about 550 dollars. The newer model of these speakers retails for about 2500 USD. The deail was too good to ignore but i hope that these atlantic's would not give me 550 dollar speaker sound.

Anyone has any experience with these.

Also Now i am looking for a subwoofer for these speakers. Dennis recommended outlaw lfm-1 plus however these are not available in my country and impossible to carry with myself from USA. Can somebody recommend good subwoofer for these speakers under 800 USD.

Regards
Hussain

Atlantic technology makes some great speakers, seems like a nice deal to me and Dennis knows his stuff.

Pakistan is a tough one. What brands are available in your country? What US sites will ship to Pakistan?

Where did you purchase the Atlantic Technology speakers? Ask him to sell you the Outlaw sub too.

Hi ,.

I bought the atlantic's from USA and carrying them with me to Pakistan hence outlaw is out of the question.

The subwoofer's brands available in Pakistan are:

klipsch, yamaha, triad, revel, bower wilkins, rotel, mark levinson, meridian, polk, lexicon.

I would appreciate if anyone can recommend a sub from the above mentioned brand.

I suspect not all of those would fit in your budget? I would lean towards Klipsch, and Triad if the budget permits.

I have finalized my subwoofer. It is going to be SVS-PB12 NSD. I have arranged for transportation of this subwoofer to Pakistan somehow.

So now my system is

7.0 Atlantic Technology 2200 Speakers
SVS-PB12 Subwoofer

Can anyone please advise me on AV Receiver, Amplifier, Power conditioner and any other equipment to setup the audio part of my home theatre.

Hussain

Your speakers have good sensitivity and are rated 8ohm. I personally am a fan of Denon, so I would look at their speakers, and depending on how far away you sit from your speakers and how loud you drive them, an AV receiver should be enough vs buying expensive amps.

Pioneer Elite is a solid receiver as well, but I do like the Audyssey MultiEQ room equalization software, and Denon usually offers this with very good pricing. Not knowing prices in your country it is hard to recommend a specific model, but I would not overspend here.

BTW, great choice on your subwoofer. You have a very nice setup here.
