Hi all, I am wanting to setup a decent system in my bedroom (the only domain I can control!) I have attached a rough schematic of the room layout, as well as some components I was looking at. I would greatly appreciate any input here.

My goal is to wall mount my TV, I know it is small, but I want to upgrade the size to 46"or 50" in the near future.
I am not an audiophile, and I watch more movies than listen to music. I do play Xbox 360 and PS3 as well.

I would very much like to stay near $1,000 in budget.

Thank you for you help!

Room layout:

Current TV:

Samsung 40" LED Link

Receiver:

Denon AVR-1713 Link

Speakers:

Center Polk Audio TSi CS10 Link
Main Polk Audio TSi300 Link
Sub Polk Audio PSW108 Link

No the TV is the one I have, the components are what I am looking at buying. Wondering if they are any good? Or overkill? Or crappy for this situation? Or...?

I would look at the previous model Denon 1712. You can pick it up for $250 from accessories4less

http://www.accessories4less.com/index.php?page=item&id=DENAVR1712&gclid=CIjDlb2-gbMCFaOaPAod8HQApg

As far as speakers, to get more bang for your buck I would go with previous models.

This option would be identical to the one you listed.

2 Polk Monitor 50's $200
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882290204
Polk CS1 $100
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882290210

or you can step up to the next level
2 Polk Monitor 60's $300
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882290206
Polk CS2 $130
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882290212

or here is another low priced option
2 Pioneer FS51 $200
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882117403
Pioneer SPC21 $50
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882117404

Regardless of the LCR you decide, I would get the Klipsch RW12D for the sub. Which is usually considered the best sub value for $300

Thank you so much, that is awesome. It did not even occur to me to try and save money by finding previous years models! wink.gif

Did Polk change their naming spec?

How is it ordering components like speakers from newegg? Usually arrive in good shape?

Thanks again!

Also I noticed the receivers on accessories4less are refurbished.. I generally stay away from refurb stuff, any experience with them?

Polk did change their lineup name but the only difference is cosmetic. They are the same speakers. I ordered my sub from newegg and it shipped out the same day & arrived in perfect condition. I normally stay away from refurbs as well but I was trying to stay within your budget. I definately wouldnt skimp on the speakers as they normally will last for years & years but electronics normally are replaced every few years.

Is there an easy way to tell model years? I am also wanting to get a 55" Samsung LED, and a nice Blu-Ray player... wink.gif
