Hello,
I am currently setting up a pseudo media room area in our basement. The area is...well...odd. The basement is divided down the center (two separate rooms). Because of the placement of doors, closets, etc, we have to have the TV against one of the long walls (~25 ft) in the center and the couch on the other side. The width is ~10 ft. What would be a good type of sound system for this area? Soundbar + sub? Is a 5.1 possible/sound good? I like the idea of getting an AV receiver.

Thanks!

I put my 92" screen in the middle of the long wall in my old 28'x 16' basement. I had a 5.1 setup and it sounded great when tuned by Audyssey on my old Onkyo 606.

Did you have seating all the way against the wall on the other side? How did you position the surround speakers? Thanks!

Seating was all the way against the back wall and the surround speakers were positioned on the side walls (short walls). I mounted them 7'6" high and titled them down so the horn tweeters were directed towards the listening position.
