I need some advice about the HT placement.

In the process of buying a new house. The current plan puts the HT on top of the master closet and master bath and a bit of the master bedroom. I have the option to extend it further but it would then be directly on top of the master bedroom.
Is it normal to have a HT over Master bedroom. My builder wants to just insulate the floor with BATTS insulation (extra charge of course). Can this work with better soundproofing solution (Roxul safe and sound or GG).

A safer option would be to convert a bedroom upstairs to a HT.

Would greatly appreciate your feedback before signing the deal.

It's definately doable. While I'd say that the majority of the builds are in basements or even spare rooms on lower floors, if you do a quick search here, you'll find that there are many members who have built theaters in their attics - and they look great!
