I've been trying to search for some decorative columns which stick out by an inch or two are called, to help hide some wiring. Or are they just made? Any help would be appreciated.

Try searching wire channels. they usually go on floor, but I'm sure you find wall mounts.

Wiremold is a brand name; check HD/Lowes. Surface mount wiring/cable duct would be another name. Slotted wiring duct is also called finger channel. In/behind the wall looks nicer, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
