I am new to home audio and not sure what goes together properly. Recently had a house fire and insurance is replacing an old panasonic bookshelf system, but i am replacing with a 5.1 surround setup for my parents. I do have a budge and the maximum is around $640 including all cables needed. I have been looking and pieced together a simple budget system but wanted to know what everyone thought before i pull the trigger. Want to get the best possible system for the price paid. Here is what i put together, all on newegg btw.

Denon AVR-1513 Receiver- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1CZ0EA6096 - $199
Energy Take 5 Pack 5CH Speakers- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882269004 - $150
Polk Audio PSW505 12" Sub- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882290130 - $250

Speaker cable is 100ft of 16Guage BYTECC model SPW-162 and sub cable is a belkin pure av model AV20500 25ft. Along with a Kaybles model DHDMI-6BK the total is around $646 including shipping. All going into an open living room that is roughly around 450 sq.ft. maybe less. Im not even sure the energy take speakers match up with the denon receiver but I don't know jack about home audio impedence or how efficient home audio speakers can be. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Instead of that sub, I recommend the BIC America F-12. And as far as the wires and cables, I would check the prices at Monoprice.com.

I second monoprice if you get your cables anywhere else you will pay too much.

Newegg runs great sales and they are a reputable retailer. To find out how equipment plays together I would visit the owners forums and see if anyone is useing that combo and what their impression is.

Good luck.
