If you're just starting construction, you SHOULD NOT be ordering any A/V equipment, with the possible exception of in-wall / in-ceiling speakers. You won't need any of this stuff for at least 6-9 months, and unless you can keep it all in a refrigerator, it will spoil. biggrin.gif

Seriously, you're a full product cycle away from being able to use it. There will be new models, and they will be better, and probably cheaper. Concentrate now on your plans, pre-wiring, and so forth. I've seen way too many folks buy a projector, have it sitting in the box for a year, and then be horribly surprised to find out there's a new, cheaper model available by the time they can even get to use it.

Also, the warranty clock starts on the day of purchase, not the day you get around to installing it.

what he said...

plus, you can probably find a better sub for the price if you don't need wireless - why would you if it's a new construction?

If you are just starting construction, I would suggest using PVC conduit between the projector/TV and projector/AVR, if you ever needed to replace the projector or run a new wire you would be able to. Also design where your lighting is to go as well as any plugs. Recently built a house, I purchase new AVR and Speakers and only used them a couple times before we finished the room where it was going, guys above are correct, get your room done, before you buy any equipment. It will at least take a month to get things setup properly, unless you are hiring someone.

For drywall on the ceiling, you can get a lift to hold it up, very useful.

Here is a quick idea of the approach you should take, 4 steps.
  • Design - decide where your equipment will be, speaker location, tv/screen location, wall colour, lighting solutions, flooring, sound proofing, furniture, wall art.
  • Infrastructure - Install all the wiring (speakers, electrical), install conduit you may need, then the insulation, anything behind the scenes which can't be seen.
  • Completion of room - Drywall, taping, mudding, sanding, priming, painting, wall outlets, flooring install, trim, doors. This would be a good time to order equipment (speakers, cables, wires between outlets and speakers) so you have it in time after your walls are dry, and flooring is laid.
  • Equipment - Install equipment, and bring in furniture.
