I have a set of Paradigm ADP-170 surrounds. One of the drivers in each speaker has deteriorated and is coming apart. Can I replace them with drivers from somewhere like parts-express without issue? If it's OK, I would probably replace all four drivers. I don't really want to spend a lot on new surrounds.

Better asked in the speaker forum, but why wouldn't you contact Paradigm about buying replacement drivers directly from them that are the correct ones?

I figured they would be a lot more expensive, but I'll give that a try.

Not sure why I missed the speaker forum. smile.gif

Thanks!

Ummm... The driver is the speaker, right? You have a nice speaker - replacing it with a cheap driver instead of the correct one, turns it into a cheap speaker. And it won't match the other one (sonic-wise). Worse, this is a dipole.

Paradigm shipped me a new tweeter diaphragm a few months ago. The price wasn't bad at about 30 bucks. They were nice to deal with, and knew what they were doing. Shoot them an email and they'll give you a price and you can go from there.

I was missing some screws from one of the boxes and they sent them to me no problem. I would say they are good at backing their product.
