My basement project is making progress, surely but slowly.
I'm starting to insulate the storage areas, but am questioning how much finish is finished.

The storage area is going to be an "L-Shaped" area wrapping around the stair case,
and connecting to a stubbed-out bathroom that wont be finished.

So i plan on putting some doors on both ends, but what about the outsides of the stair well should those be sheetrock'd?

How has everyone else dealt with storage areas?

Our basement storage area is drywalled and mudded. Not painted though. It was like that when we bought it, and the holiday decorations and my brewing equipment don't seem to mind too much smile.gif

Yeah, and i guess the mudding doesnt need to be as smooth as regular walls...

I think thats the hardest part of whole project.

Yeah I think if I were to paint it, I'd need to sand it. Looks plenty nice for what it is, though.

Personally I'd probably just drywall and not mess with the mud.

It sounds like you have the same setup area as I have in the basement behind the stairs. One of the first things I did was to build an upright storage area and used plastic bins to get organized.
