by the seat of my pants i made a custom theater intro using after effects for the video. premiere to insert the audio.

Looks nice. I wouldn't even know how to start making something like that. I used ivipid to make something similar for my son's school project, but the options are very limited. Would be nice to be able to make something from scratch.

AE is confusing. i really just sat down and powered through a whole lot of tutorials. then i took what i learned and messed with this... messed with that. there also a lot of youtube tutorials showing how to make specifically what you're looking for. the above video is about 1 months' worth of knowledge. its a good learning experience to try to replicate existing movie intros but the real meat of what i want to do is entirely custom creations.
