So I have a projector, 7.1 receiver. satellite box and oppo 103 blu ray player hooked up. I know most people shrug off line conditioners but I live in a house built in the 30's and I have had 2 surges that were deadly to my receiever. So I need one for the components and then another just for the projector on the other side of the room. Im trying really hard to keep this all around 300 bucks.....

No one shrugs off surge protection... The line conditioning aspects and any benefits are "above and beyond" that, and can be debated...

I'm partial to Panamax / Furman products - any of their line will get you surge protection, and many (most/all?) of them have the protection warranties...

Get a whole-house surge protection device, plus a point-of-use SPD.

Ask your electrician what he recommends.

Has the electrical system been ugraded to grounded receptacles (three prong), or does it have ungrounded receptacles (two prong)?

So I bough this one:http://www.ebay.com/itm/360600142278?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I leave it on all the time right? Not just when using the devices. Leaving it on will protect all the devices all the time correct?

Leave it on, turn it off. It doesn't make a difference.
