Wasn't too sure what forum to post this topic so I apologize if it's incorrectly placed.. Anyway, my main floor is gutted and below my media room is my utility room in the basement. I want to have all my media components, media servers, ELK system, and entire house cat 6 in my utility room in the basement (plenty of room.) My concern is that the basement is anywhere from 50 - 55% humidity level, well it was all winter. Is that a bad level for electronics? I really don't have the room to put it anywhere else so I'm hoping this is normal. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

My home is at about 40 percent all winter, with the basement sometimes pushing into 50. I've had no problems. Provided you're getting good air circulation, you should be ok. Remember that too low of a humidity can lead to a lot of static electricity.
