I'm looking for a nice audio tower to be used as a projector stand.

Looking for something about 54 to 60 inches in height. Width at least 22 inches, depth at least 16 inches.

Anyone have one of these?

Curious if it would make a nice projector stand or not. I want something that will make the living room look nice, something that when you look at it you might say "ooooh...ahhhhh....ahhhhh..oooooh, that's nice."

Just like that in fact.

I can't make a recommendation of a specific model as everyone's tastes are different. However, I will say that using an AV stand as a projector stand works just fine. I've had my projector set up that way for years.

thanks.

that's good to know. I wasn't sure if it would be too low or not.

Presently, I'm using a makeshift stand that is about 55 inches in height. I was hoping to replace it with something that looks much nicer though, as unfortunately, the stand itself has to be very nice looking, else it can make the rest of the room not look so great. Hopefully I can find one I like. It seems like most audio towers that look great are difficult to find. I really like that Bello unit, but it is very expensive and they don't make it anymore.

Just have to make sure it's over the heads of the people sitting in front. 54 to 60 inches should be plenty.

Here's a link to a 7 foot tall floor projector stand from the Airdesk company posted by AVS member "chong67". The base looks maybe oo light & small;

Before I recently redesigned the room (it's ceiling mounted now) I used a BDI rack I got off craigslist and it worked very well for over a year.

Thanks HDGTX.

I've seen that one online before, it's just not quite what I'm looking for. It just seems like with my luck I would accidentally knock it over too easily or something.

Hey Designcode. That is very similar to what I am looking for. Does it come in silver, grey or black? Also, how tall is it?

One thing about your old setup though, from a health standpoint, has anyone in the chair closest to that right side surround speaker ever complained of tinnitus (loud ringing noise in ears), or hearing loss? That speaker seems way too dangerously close to that person's ears.

Does your new redesign have that speaker so close?

Never had any problems with it and now there is about three feet from the left and right surrounds to the seating position. Majority of the sound comes from the L/C/R anyway.

Not sure if the stand comes in different colors. Mine was a Craigslist find. I believe its 55-60 inches tall and is very solid.

Did you end up lifting the surrounds to about 5 or 6 feet in height?
