It's time to move my Panasonic plasma from its stand mount to a wall mount. The instructions I've seen say to take the panel off its stand, lay it flat, and attach the rails to the four main bolt holes in the back of the panel. The question I have is whether I can leave the tv on its stand while I put the rails on, if I do it one bolt at a time?

You should be able to attach the rails while it sits on its stand. And you can probably unscrew the stand/base from the set while it remains upright - but be careful as nothing will keep it in position and it WILL fall over if you don't have someone holding it. I've generally done the conversion this way as long as I had someone else around to help.
