We just moved into a new house and the good news is I finally have a basement man cave all to myself. The bad news is the house was built in 1791 and the basement is mix of renovated poured concrete walls and 3+ inch ancient plaster ceilings. I want to put in a casual home theater that is non destructive to the house (its a rental), but I'm really nervous about exploring the ceiling for support structures to mount the projector.

I was thinking I could put in some kind of vertical pole held in with pressure and attaching a projector mount to that with c-clamps. Anyone have any other ideas? doesn't seem to be many options for temp projector mounting.

I've love some other ideas that don't feel so shanty. lol

Um.. Table, book case, hutch, wall mount, pedistal? Is this a DLP projector with offset or does it have lens shift?

I'm leaning towards the Panasonic PTAE8000, so yes on the lens shift.

Your placement options with something that has good H&V lens shift are only limited by your imagination, budget and better half!

This was just a temp install as I can not afford to keep the projector (impulse buy without checking with the wife first) you can see a nice mantel or cabinet in the place of this one would have looked fine.. Z30K is in the classified here at AVS and on Ebay.

My old one (that I will continue to use for now)
