Hey all,

I've bought a HD projector and the room I'm installing it in has been extended out the back with a small 2m extension. Because of this there is an "arch" where the load bearing beam sits a little below the ceiling.

I'm looking to bolt my projector ceiling mount into this. Is it safe to drill 4 small holes through the bottom of the i-beam? I assume I will have to because I wouldn't have though there's enough plaster to support the weight of the projector and mount.

Kevin

4 bolt holes in the bottom flange will be OK. You can make them an eight bigger for wiggle room if you need to, or even tap them to bolt right to it..

Thanks for the info. Tapping them sounds like the best idea, don't want my projector falling!
