What would be the closest acceptable viewing distance to a 100" screen using a good projector?

That's the wrong way to approach a setup...

The viewing distance and room layout dictate the screen size. Unless you've already got a 100" screen laying around.

But you can be ~9' from a 100" screen and not be "too close" - but that's about as close as you'd want to be. I'm 10' from mine at 108" and I wouldn't go any larger at that distance.

I was asking because i'm thinking of adding another row of seats in front of the current ones which are at 14'. That would put the added row at about 11'

Put a chair at 11', sit in it and see what you think... Have other family members do the same if needed...
