I bought a new TV and am trying to connect my PS3, Yamaha Receiver and TV. I am new to this, so I apologize in advance for my pitiful explanation of the connectors I am using and their configurations. May the force be with you in deciphering my mapping
I am certain you'll need more information so please don't hesitate to ask!
My receiver is old school, so no HDMI.
I have the 3 systems configured as such:
PS3 Composite Cable with yellow going to TV and red/white going to Receiver (the row marked DVD)
RCA Audio Cable (I think this is the proper name. It has red and white connectors on both ends) from the Receiver (the row marked D-TV/CBL) to the TV.
This is the same configuration I used on my old TV and everything worked great. However this time around, the sound only comes out of the receiver when I use the Playstation. If I just play the television, the sound comes out of the television. I want it to always come through the receiver.
I am beginning to believe this is a TV setting rather than a mapping issue, but that is what I'm turning to the experts
Thanks so much for any guidance you can give!
I can send pictures if it will help!
