From what I am reading my living room is not going to be acoustically very good
stone walls, some of the walls are not plastered and are made from softish stone
glass windows, with medium weight curtains. Quite big approximately 30sq ft of window
the floor area is square 30ft by 30ft - i read rectangular is better
on two sides there are large opening into another room (size 6ft by 7ft) - no way to block these openings
the ceiling is 8ft high at the window and it slopes up from the window to the center of the room, at the center of the room it is 14ft in height all the way to the other wall.
The room is not going to change!!!! I love the space, I love the stone walls.... Another room is not an option.
I was wondering if the size of the room being quite large will help, if I keep the volume down!
I was going to buy a Denon X4000 and some nice speakers (dunno which yet) total cost around 3,000 USD. For general TV, movie and games. But am I wasting my money? Should I just stick with a cheaper all in one home theatre around 500 USD?
Thanks these forums, really useful information throughout from people who know and care about acoustics. I have done some hours of reading before posting.
