I'm working now on designing my bar in my basement. I have been thinking about lighting in the bar and I am not sure what would be the best thing to go with when it comes to nice lighting for underneath the bar top on both the front and bartender side. My first thought was just to use rope lighting but I've also been reading a lot about the use of led strips. Or should I go with more of a traditional way of using something like you would under your kitchen cabinets?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

The LED strips with a controller gives you quite a few options for color and fairly simple to install. Something like this http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=073-086

Thanks for the link. Are these dimmable by the remote? It's hard to tell.

Check out inspired LED. I did under-cabinet lights in the kitchen from them. I really like the custom-length strip lights that stick on. Really low-profile. They have multiple densitites depending how bright you need - I used the mid-density.
