I read a review on amazon that suggests the ethereal green power line can cause tv's to fail. Unfortunately I cannot find much else on this accusation or the owners manual that is suggested to acknowledge this risk. This does not make sense to me especially considering it is marketed as a home theater conditioner, and it has 3 outlets for always on products.

Does anybody else know why this might be the case?

A single bad review on Amazon???? Must be true! biggrin.gif

Not likely it damaged anything. The "not for modern TVs" comment supposedly from an engineer at the company is probably about the low power consumption of newer LED / Energy Star TVs in general - the "on" power consumption may be too low for their design threshold to trigger the switched outlets. So the product may not work as expected.

Is there some reason you're looking at that strip compared to the dozens of other products available? If it concerns you, move on... Lots of ways to trigger switched outlets if that's what you're trying to accomplish.

Well it is for sale for $34 on a4l and it has high emi/rfi noise reduction ratings and surge 6k+ joules surge protection. The shut down features may be a nice bonus.
