Apartment 5.1

Hello all. I am trying to set up the Vizio S5451w-C2, Samsung H7150, PS4 and XBOX One. I will pass my cable through my XBOX. I want to maintain 5.1 with all devices. Is there a way to do this without a AVR? Thanks.

Apparently your Vizio 5.1 soundbar has a built in amplifier, so technically no you don't need a AVR. Read the manual from your soundbar in connecting your devices to achieve 5.1 surround sound from all your components.

Thanks for the tip. I have been researching this and it seems like the best way to go about this is to connect all my external devices straight to the sound bar using HDMI. Then connect the sound bar to the TV using HDMI(ARC). This will require and HDMI switcher to connect both the PS4 AND Xbox One to the non HDMI(ARC) port of the sound bar. Once I actually give this a try I will let you all know how it goes.
