Running HDMI in an apartment

Can anyone recommend/point me in the right direction on how to run HDMI cable from one side of the room to another in an apartment? The cable inputs are on the opposite side from where my projector will be mounted. Per the floor plan, the projector will be mounted on the kitchen side of the living room and the screen on the bedroom side. My issue is the long run of cable and not having it sit on top of the carpet.

If you can't open the wall, you don't have much choice.. Throw rugs over cable guards were crossing walking areas.
