Help me Choose Which Room to Use
I've got what, but just about all accounts, would be considered a "good" problem.
Moving into a new house, and I can choose which room to claim for a theater/media room/man cave.
But how to choose? Surely bigger isn't always better, right?
Choice A) 4th floor bedroom. Sits above the kitchen. 20 x 11 ft. But the ceiling tapers in, so limits the size of the screen, potentially.
Choice B) Basement. It 18.5 x 21.5, but has a funky shaped wall, 7'6" ceilings, an oddly placed closet with sump pump, and a really terribly placed lolly column (red x on floor plan).
I laid out some basic design options with a minimal amount of work to be done (lose one small wall by the basement stairs) to create a fun media room / man cave.
And one option if we sink real money into the project and basically redo all the HVAC and plumbing and do a fuller sized theater in the basement. All of them attached.
Would you go pure theater or big media space?
