Mounting the projector

My power outlet and hdmi are being centered in the room and 13 feet back from the screen. Looking at how the mounts attach to the ceiling should I have the contractor stick another board between the two studs going horizontal so that I can screw the mount into that? Just need to decide soon before they put dry wall up. Thanks!

That's exactly what I did so I didn't have to know the exact placement. I used a sheet of OSB, but I was doing double drywall, so it served as the first layer.

If you're just using one layer of drywall, you can put a backer between the joists.
