thanks man. The room turned out alright...we enjoy using it, although just once or twice a week right now. We saw King Kong last night, and are friends loved the experience.

Finally received the 090's so I have something to show. I do not have before pics available at this time but try to imagine a bunch of bare studs and concrete floor.

You may click the thumbnails for larger images. From the front right looking back to the seating area and wet bar.

From the rear of the room looking forward.

And what good is a room without a screen shot.

By the numbers.
34' x 22' room with fireplace.
7.1 surround, stage LRC, SR/SL and SBR/SBL in media area soffit, sub left of seating.
58" x 103" screen surface of my own design.
Isolated screen wall and speaker towers.
Portable 10" risers so that the room can be reconfigured for conversation pit.
Maximum seating when adjacent room furniture is deployed is 18.
1 remote and I drive!

Hit the Quote button for any of the posts that include images embedded in them (like the one immediately above yours). Look for the tags that are included and how they are formatted and emulate that. You'll need to upload the images first to some image site, like fotki.com as an example.

AVS has to be able to access where the tag points to so it needs to be a public site. If you upload your photos to fotki.com or I use photobucket.com, below the picture they will have the HTML tag already typed out for you. All you have to do is copy (Ctrl C) and paste (Ctrl V) it into your thread. They look like this:

"photoname.gif" (without the quotes though)

We here will see the actual photo, not the HTML code. So as you are trying you would do something like:

He here is a photo of my kick a$$ theater:

"round_left.gif" (remember no quotes though)

Hope this helps.

Great Job on the columns. How did you customize the grill to sit in there so nice?

Actually, the rear speakers are bipolar speakers so we just built the columns around the speakers. They used to be white at one time so I converted them to black and just slid them into place. Take a look...

I see, looks great. very professional. I take it that the "grill" for lack of a better term, just slides over the top and friction fits over the speaker?

Your theater bar looks great Buff. I have seen your construction pics and would like to make one of my own. How did you construct the bar top? The walls look easy enough but I'm unsure of what to use as far as materials and methods for making a strong bar top without sagging. Thanks

Kermie: The speaker barely slides in and out and the grilles just snap in like a regular speaker grilles. All I did was was change the color of the mesh.

Dpacifico6: Take a look at this link. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=676030 It has a small how to write up and a variety of build designs and applications to choose from.

DaIceMan: Tell me about it. My imagination is writing checks that my bank can't cash...

You know there is so much great stuff in this thread, it seems a shame to let it die, so I am bumping it.

I would love to see more pics of before and after, there are some great ideas in here. I love the Doors of Durin idea.

I still am trying to come up with a theme, and some of these are giving me great ideas.

Wow, Buff's room looks disturbingly similar to my theater room...

That's from a couple years ago and it's still a work in progress. I plan to have it finished for a superbowl party, so I might have some before/after pics within the next month.
