DINGER23 - Nice SB party setup, Love the poker chairs they match the bar and half wall stools, where they from ? ....
Another question - How are your tappers mounted in your cabinet, did you run a bolt through the bottom of the cabinet and then they screw on from the top? are the studs mounted for good?

Thanks ...

Thanks Mike I've been watching your build and your place is turning out sweet. Your sceen shots are sick!!

Dennis- I thought I got the bar stools from the same website as you but when I looked again it was from barstools-barstools dot com. I picked the stools I have because I could get them unfinished so we stain them ourselves plus they had the matching chairs for the poker table. I have to say that when I was planning this whole project I underestimated the cost for 10 stools and 8 chairs.

Randy - did you just call me fat???

You and the rest of us...it was tough to make out that check but it not like you can't have them either so your kinda stuck....
When I'm all done I couldv'e bought a nice commercial Kegerator for what i'll end up spending on stupid chairs.

What stain are you using on the chairs, the same as the bar and walls?

Yep used the same stain for the chairs as the rest of the place. I think black would of been my only other choice.

As for the tap shelve it was a x-mas gift from my buddy who helped me build my room. It was just a piece of scrap we had laying around and turned it into holder for my extra tap handle. It was an idea we were thinking of doing for some time and he knew my wife was buying me a tap for x-mas and he got me the "Giants Rack Girl" tap so he went ahead and made it for me as a gift.

Ok so I have looked at your thread here and there but tonight I thoroughly went through it and I have to say I agree with a another comment.....I HATE YOU!!! Damn that was mean, sincerely it was a jealous mofo speaking out. I love that basement....how do you pull yourself out of there to do things like go to work or shower?? And if that wasnt enough you HAD to go and pull out the backyard pics? They look like something Ty Pennington did on Extreme Makeover Home Edition...or something you might see on MTV Cribs JUST PLAIN SICK MAN!!!!! What a gorgeous setup seriously I am amazed, impressed and curious if you and the mrs. are currently considering adoption? Maybe a 33 year old with a slight desire for draft beer and poker

You're too kind Steve. Although I was hoping for something better than a Ty Pennington feel to the room

And Randy is right. He has hated me longer so he is 1st in line.

Yep still hanging around just not posting much. We hit triple digits this week with the temp so hanging in the basement most of the weekend sounds like a great idea. Having a fresh keg and the Yanks/Sux to watch makes it better. I have a tee time Sunday morning too, so life is good.

I was thinking of you the other day, How's life in Dinger's world? You've been very quiet this summer run out of projects?

Thanks,

Any excuse is a good one to keep this thread from falling into the AVS abyss. Especially since some of us are pretty slow on uptake, and needed to be hit over the head with a bump to finally wake up and notice it.

Nice work. Keep the bumps coming!

This Thread is more than 134 days old. It is very likely that it does not need any further discussion and thus bumping it serves no purpose.

No worries, you can sand it down and re-pour. Are your flat surfaces okay? Many others have had difficulty with the railing and Etex.

That sucks, but as HeyNow^ said you can scuff it up and repour. I did a couple of test pours with envirotex on scrap peices of bar wood and decided against using it on my bar. I went with 2 qts of spar urethane instead. I spoke with customer service at envirotex and they said I can still use their stuff later if I decide to. Just to many things can wrong if the conditions aren't right and didn't want to deal with that right now. Good luck and keep us up dated.

I like this place!!!

How much can I sand down? I am at the point I want to strip it all off. My back bar is destroyed with lines all throughout.

First off, I had to wait until I got home to see your pics.

Did you wipe your surfaces down first with alcohol to get the oils off the bar? I know this Bar has been in production for sometime. Secondly, it looks to me like you didn't have enough to "pond" the finish on the bar top. Not enough product. This is NOT a problem IMHO. You just need to pour another application and a heavy one at that. I'm not there to see it, but that is what it looks like to me. I did the same thing with too little of the etex on a second pour, same streaking result. I would pour again and remember this is not like painting Poly on the top. You need to dam up the flat surface and think thick pond of at least 1/8 for each pour.

I didn't etex my rail, but you may want to wait a bit after you mix the etex to put it on the rail...let it thicken a bit when it sets up and you won't have the dripping problem. .... However, liquid will seek it's own level. Your railing is not level. You are going to be okay, just don't panic....

Brace for impact...

Capt. Sully.

If you want, PM me and I'll call you or you can call me to discuss. I am not an expert...but you will be fine.
