I currently have a rectangular room where I will have a projector on one end and a screen on the other, if I place a receiver underneath the screen will I get any exhaust from the receiver in my picture? I could probably move it to one side and then use fans to blow on it, what do you think?

I think you will be fine without fans! The heat produced by your receiver will not be enough to refract the light between the screen and the PJ or between the screen and your eyes. You will be fine with it under the screen. However, with a projection set-up, alot of us don't feel the need to have the electronics in the front of the room. For me, I wanted a clean look to the room, (ie no clutter) so I put my receiver in a closet and use a leapfrog ir remote extender to control it. In-wall speakers help to de-clutter as well but that's another topic. Have fun!
