Yes, the UK discs are the exact same as the US ones.

The only set without the DNR/scratch removal artifacts is the OOP Japanese set in black/gold packaging: www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B002LS38K8/ But you probably won't be able to find it for cheaper than $100 shipped or so, if you can find a seller that's willing to ship overseas that is. I might be willing to sell mine someday but I still haven't gotten around to rewatching all the episodes yet.

Crap. Guess I'll add BOB to the wait to be fixed list along with the green-crushed Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Blu-Rays.

What's OOP btw? Object Oriented Programming?

Out Of Print. The currently available BOB set in Japan is from Warner and uses the same crap masters as the US/UK sets.

To get global shipping choose a set fulfilled by Amazon. You can get one used right now from Amazon Japan for around US$80 shipped.

Negative. The JP release does not have the additional grain reduction the US/UK sets have.

There are multiple JP releases. The lack of DNR only applies to the Amuse one that's OOP, like I already said. The current JP set that's in print (and the one that comes with The Pacific) is from Warner, and it uses the same masters as the US/UK sets.

jd213 is right eric, there are two BOB BD sets in Japan.

OOP Amuse set from 2009 - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B002LS38K8

New Warner set with the same DR as the UK/US sets - http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B00CDIIJ8M
